American Muslim Bar Association hosts an informational webinar and media ability about the American legal community’s response to the egregious conduct of the U.A.E., a foreign nation, detaining a U.S. citizen and fellow attorney, trying him in absentia with no notice of the charges against him, and denying him access to counsel, the opportunity to review the evidence, or present a defense. We will also discuss the implications for the American legal community and the Muslim community at large should Mr. Ghafoor continue to be detained contrary to the basic principles of due process and the rule of law.
